Charlie Pownall

Charlie Pownall is a consultant, trainer and troubleshooter who works with companies, organisations and individuals to understand, protect, manage and defend their reputations.

He specialises in reputation management across all channels, on which he pens his thoughts on this blog and in a number of media outlets. The protection and management of a company’s name and image on the web and social media is also the focus of his book Managing Online Reputation (see opposite).

He has worked with organisations such as Barclays, BP, CIMB Bank, Huawei, International Copper Association, London Business School, LG Electronics, MTR Corporation, Qualcomm, Singapore government, The Peninsula Hotels, and London’s South Bank Centre and V&A Museum.

Charlie Pownall has worked mostly in Public Relations and Digital Communications across
a variety of disciplines, including media relations, financial communications, employee
communications
public affairs, digital marketing and social media.

He started his career in government writing speeches before moving into journalism, in-house corporate communications, digital marketing and social media. Charlie is based in London and travels regularly to the Middle-East and Asia. He has lived
and worked in Singapore, Hong Kong, Madrid and Brussels, with lengthy assignments in Sydney,
