Rita Balian Allen is the founder and president of Rita B. Allen Associates, a provider of career/talent management consulting and coaching services for individuals and organizations representing a variety of industries including high technology, biotechnology, financial services, professional services, medical devices/pharmaceuticals, higher education, healthcare, government and retail/consumer products. She has several years of Human Resource Management experience in the areas of employment, employee relations, organizational development, compensation, benefits, executive coaching, and management development. Her specialty areas include executive coaching, leadership development, management training and career development.
In her previous role as Vice President of Marketing and Search Services with Gatti & Associates, a national search firm specializing in the search and placement of H.R. professionals, Rita directed firm wide marketing initiatives and specialized in senior level Human Resources search assignments. Prior to joining the firm, she held human resources positions with C.R. Bard, Inc., BTU International and Unitrode Corporation.
Rita holds a Master of Science in Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors of More Than Words, a non-profit organization that empowers at-risk-youth to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Career Professionals International - New England as President and was a former board member of The Boston Club where she Chaired the Corporate Relations Committee, and remains active in both organizations.
Rita is also a member of the Human Resources Leadership Forum (HRLF), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the founder and former chair of the Creative Work Options Network (CWON), and former member of the Board of Directors of the International Association for Human Resources Information Management (IHRIM).
She is a frequent speaker and presenter at business events and has been a participant in discussions on radio, television and newspaper on the topics of Leadership, Personal Branding, Talent Development, Career Management and other human resources issues.
Rita has also published numerous articles on these topics in various publications and currently writes a monthly career management column for Leadership and Management Books (L&MB). She also previously had a monthly blog, Rita’s Career Corner, on the Global Business Hub section of Boston.com.
Rita published her first book, Personal Branding and Marketing Yourself: The 'Three Ps" Marketing Technique as a Guide to Career Empowerment, in July of 2014.
She is certified in a variety of assessment tools and is a Lecturer as an adjunct faculty member at Northeastern University, Bentley University and Suffolk University.
She was voted one of the Top Ten Executive Coaches by the Boston Women's Business Journal.
Rita is fluent in Armenian.
